Our mission: To create earth-conscious, functional, and beautiful wooden products.
We source and process the wood ourselves, all wood used to make our furniture comes from our local area. We use wood that has fallen under natural circumstances or has been sustainably coppiced or reclaimed.
We believe being part of the process from start to finish enables a deeper connection to the material and greater respect for the land and the natural environment.
Finding a rhythm takes time. We are constantly learning and evolving our practice and process.
We work with the seasons; coppicing trees and milling storm-fallen trees, over the winter months
Making small batches, allows the wood to determine the amount and scale of the products. Choosing to work in this way means products will vary, each piece unique.
reducing waste is important to us. Offcuts from larger furniture go on to make our smaller items. The wood we can't use in the workshop, we use to produce biochar. Biochar in combination with other permaculture practices helps to improve soil fertility on our small holding. Sawdust is collected and used in the garden or as bedding for our chickens.
